Pesticide risk reduction strategies
The Canadian government instituted the Pesticide Risk Reduction Program in 2003 in order to meet growing public demand for sustainable agriculture, to reduce reliance on older chemical pesticides, and to minimize the unintended environmental and human health impacts of pest management programs. Through the Program, stakeholders develop and implement pesticide risk reduction strategies.
