Crop profiles are documents that provide an overview of production and pest management practices for a variety of agricultural crops in Canada. They are developed through an extensive consultative process with experts and stakeholders in producing provinces to identify pest occurrence along with grower issues/gaps in pest management. They are not crop production guides, and growers are encouraged to consult provincial crop production guides for detailed information on pest management in their regions.
The baseline information provided in crop profiles supports the development of pesticide risk reduction strategies as well as the regulatory work of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) of Health Canada. They are a source of current pest management information for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), PMRA, provinces, industry, growers and grower organizations.
If you wish to obtain one or more of these documents for personal use, please contact the Pest Management Centre to request a PDF version of the profile document or access the full collection available from Government of Canada Publications.
