1. What this service offers

The Green Internships Stream funds internships for post-secondary graduates to undertake environmentally beneficial activities, services or research in the agricultural sector but not restricted to farms. These internships must be a meaningful length and can last up to 12 months and must be completed by March 31st, 2019

You could receive up to a maximum of $16,000 per intern under the Green Internships Stream.Typically funding is provided on a 50:50 cost-share between the applicant and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada up to a maximum of $16,000. Non-profit entities with five permanent employees or fewer could be eligible for up to 80% support. Non-profit entities with more than five employees may be considered for up to 80% support on a case-by-case basis.

Applications will be accepted until all funds have been allocated and approved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Preference may be given to Indigenous applicants in support of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Government of Canada’s priority of supporting Indigenous economic development and advancing reconciliation.
